How to Change Edge Lighting on OnePlus 7 Pro and Other Cool Tips
OnePlus’ latest flagship, the OnePlus 7 Pro, is the first phone to feature a curved display. This allows you to receive notifications even when the phone is face down. The feature is similar to Samsung’s flagships and lights up the display edges when you receive a notification.
OnePlus has recently added a new feature to the latest open beta update for the OnePlus 7 Pro. This feature, known as Horizon Lights, allows users to customize the edge lighting effects on their device. In this article, we will discuss how to change the edge lighting on your OnePlus 7 Pro.
How to Change Edge Lighting on OnePlus 7 Pro
To change the edge lighting on your OnePlus 7 Pro, ensure that you’re using the latest Android 10-based OxygenOS open beta. You won’t be able to find the settings mentioned below if you’re using an older version of the software.
To update your phone to the latest open beta version of the ROM, go to the OnePlus forums and download the ROM onto your phone. Then, follow the post’s instructions to flash it onto your device.

Once you’re ready, follow these steps to change edge lighting on your OnePlus 7 Pro:
Step 1: Open the Settings app.
Step 2: Tap on Display to access the display settings.
Step 3: In the menu, scroll down to find Ambient display settings and tap on it.
Step 4: Select the Horizon light setting.
To customize the edge lighting colors, open the customization window. Currently, OnePlus offers four colors: stock blue, red, gold, and purple effects.
You can try them out by tapping on the color, and an animation will play above. To select a color, tap on it and hit the checkmark in the top right corner. Simple, right?

Turn on Smart Display on Your OnePlus 7 Pro
OnePlus has shipped a new Smart Display feature with the update. It provides access to relevant information on the ambient display, such as upcoming calendar events and the songs you’re listening to. Here’s how to turn on the feature:
1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
Step 2: Tap on the Display option in the settings to open the display options.
Step 3: In the menu, scroll to Ambient display settings and tap on it.
Step 4: Tap the toggle next to Smart display to enable the feature.
You can configure what you want to see by tapping on the option and toggling on the Media player and Calendar event options in the following screen.
Check Out the New Game Space
Android 10 has integrated its Gaming mode into a standalone app called Game Space. This centralizes all installed games, eliminating the need to scroll through the app drawer. The app also tracks gaming time and includes features like graphics optimization, the eSports ready Fnatic mode, and notification management settings.
Block Spam SMS Using Specific Keywords
OnePlus’ SMS app now lets you block spam messages by keywords. To access the new Block by keyword feature, tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner and go to Settings.
To access the settings, tap Blocking settings. In the next page, find Block by keyword and set up a new keyword. Add a new keyword by tapping the plus icon.
Once set up, any incoming message with the keyword will be automatically blocked, and you won’t receive notifications for it.
Try Out the New Camera Features
The stock camera app on the OnePlus 7 Pro has new features. It now allows video capture with the ultra-wide lens, which was not available in the previous OxygenOS version. Switching between the lenses is as easy as tapping on the tree icon above the shutter button.
The Nightscape mode on the device now works with the wide-angle lens. Switching between the lenses is simple.
