16 Best Samsung Game Launcher Settings That You Should Know
Samsung Galaxy S7 introduced a new feature for its phones—Game Launcher. It is a one-stop destination for all your gaming needs on a Samsung phone. You can track your gaming stats, history, and check the leaderboard, among other cool things. Game Launcher provides settings to enhance the gaming experience on your phone. In this post, we will discuss the best Samsung Game Launcher settings to use.
Anyone who enjoys gaming on their cellphone would love the Game Launcher app. It is like a regular launcher but specifically for games. You can use other apps while playing a game, record your screen, and change the performance modes according to your phone’s capability.
Let’s explore the features of Game Launcher.
1. Enable or Disable Game Launcher
If the Game Launcher icon is not visible on your phone, it may be disabled. To enable it, follow these steps:
1. Open Settings and navigate to Advanced features.
2. Toggle on Game Launcher.
By following these steps, you can easily enable the Game Launcher icon on your phone.
The Game Launcher icon can be found in the app drawer of your phone. To disable it, repeat the steps and disable the toggle.
2. Mute Games
If the game you’re playing doesn’t have audio controls or they’re buried in the settings, you can mute the game with Game Launcher. Simply tap the mute icon at the top of the Game Launcher app’s home screen. To unmute, tap the same icon.
All games will automatically appear in Game Launcher when enabled or installed. If a game acts oddly, you can manually add it to Game Launcher. To do so, swipe up on the Game Launcher home screen to open the game library. Tap the three-dot icon at the top and select Add apps. Choose the apps you want in Game Launcher.
You can add regular apps to Game Launcher too.
4. Arrange or Sort Games
Do you have multiple games in Game Launcher? Finding your favorite game can be a challenge. While Game Launcher doesn’t allow you to add a game to your favorites, it lets you sort them for easy discovery. To do this, open the game library by swiping up, then tap the three-dot icon and choose Sort games.
5. Customize Game Library
The games section in Game Launcher is called the library. You can change the icon size of games, customize how the library opens when you launch an app, and set the location of new games. These options are available in Library settings. To access them, swipe up in Game Launcher, tap the three-dot icon, and select Library settings. From there, you can adjust each setting according to your preference.
6. Declutter Home Screen and App Drawer
If you’re a fan of apps, consider decluttering your app drawer by excluding games. Games will only appear in the Game Launcher.
To activate this, open Game Launcher, then tap the three-bar icon followed by the settings icon.
Turn off the toggle next to ‘Hide games on Home and Apps.’
7. Change Screen Recording Resolution
You can easily record your screen or take a screenshot using Game Launcher. What’s interesting is that you can customize the resolutions of screenshots and screen recordings.
There are two ways to change this setting. First, start playing a game in Game Launcher. Tap on the performance icon at the bottom, then the settings icon.
The app will guide you to Game Booster settings. There, you can adjust Screenshot and Recording resolution by tapping on them.
Alternatively, follow the method below to reach Game Booster settings. These steps will apply to all the settings mentioned next.
Step 1: In the Game Launcher app, tap on the three-bar icon at the top.
Step 2: Tap on Game performance.
8. Record Your Voice While Screen Recording
If you want to talk while recording your screen with Game Launcher, there is a setting available. Go to the resolution settings in Game Booster settings and enable the “Use microphone when recording” option.
9. Lock Screen During Game
Sometimes, you may want to pause your game. Instead of turning off the screen and going through the procedure of unlocking it and resuming the game, you can use the lock screen feature of Game Launcher. When enabled, your display will not turn off. You need to drag the lock to continue the game. To lock the screen, tap the screen lock icon.
10. Reduce Power Usage When Screen Is Locked
One might think that locking the screen this way consumes a lot of battery power. To preserve battery, Game Launcher offers a power saving setting by lowering the frame rate for games. Go to Game Booster settings and enable the toggle next to ‘Power saving while locked’ option.
11. Launch Game in Full Screen
Some users enjoy playing games in full-screen mode. With Game Launcher, you can force any game to open in full screen. To use this feature, go to Game Booster settings. Tap on Full screen apps. Choose the app you want to use in full screen and select Full screen.
12. Hide Camera Notch
Game Launcher allows you to hide the notch of your phone during gameplay. A black bar will be displayed to conceal the entire notch area. To do this, go to the Full screen app setting in Game Booster and tap the three-dot icon at the top. Then, select Advanced and enable the toggle for Hide camera cutout.
13. Change Right Shortcut Icon
When launching a game in Game Launcher, two new shortcut icons will appear in the navigation bar. The left one cannot be changed, but you can customize the right one. Options include taking a screenshot, recording the screen, enabling screen lock, and more.
To change the shortcut, tap and hold the icon. A list of available options will open, allowing you to select the desired function.
Alternatively, go to Game Booster settings and select the desired shortcut.
14. Change Floating Shortcut
Game Launcher enhances gameplay by providing convenient shortcuts and features. In addition to two shortcuts in the navigation bar, Game Launcher also includes a floating shortcut. You can position the floating shortcut anywhere on your screen while playing your favorite game. This versatile shortcut allows you to capture screenshots, record videos, access the pop-up panel, and much more. To customize the floating shortcut, simply navigate to the Game Booster settings and tap on Floating Shortcut.
15. Customize Pop-Up Panel
The pop-up panel in Game Launcher allows you to open floating apps while playing a game, as seen in the screenshot.
You can watch videos while playing your move in a game. Only four apps can be added to the panel. To customize the apps, open Pop-up panel settings inside Game Booster settings and add or remove the apps.
16. Change Performance Mode
Game Launcher has three performance modes: power saving, balanced, and performance. You can change them anytime in the Game Booster settings under Game performance.
Make the Game Launcher Work
Game Launcher may encounter issues like any other app. To fix Game Launcher not working on your phone, clear its cache and data. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > Game Launcher > Storage. Then, select Clear cache and Clear data. This should resolve the problem and restore Game Launcher to full functionality.
