If you’ve ever needed to bookmark a small thing like a comment or a paragraph, you’ve probably realized that bookmarking the page won’t help. Unlike physical objects, you can’t easily cut out and keep portions of web content. But don’t worry, there’s a solution.

Enter Clipular, a Chrome extension that offers three useful tools: Scissors, Camera, and Clipboard. With Scissors, you can cut out sections of a website. With Camera, you can take a picture of the entire page. And with Clipboard, you can store these clips for future reference. It’s like bookmarking, but better, because you have control over what you save, regardless of whether the content is static or changing.

Using Clipular

After installing Clipular, you will easily find its C-shaped icon. This icon represents your toolbox. When you click on it, you will see only one tool – Clipboard. To access the other tools, you need to associate the extension with a Clipular account. You can log in using either Facebook or Google. Clipular assures that your information is not shared with either platform, ensuring the security of your stored data. Please note that attempting to use the tool without creating an account will result in an error message stating “Error – please link extension from Clipular first…”

When your account is set, you can go back to any website and click on the C icon to choose your tool. You can also use right-click or Alt+C to select the Scissor tool. As soon as you do that, white cross lines will appear on the screen. Drag the handles over the area you want to capture.

The Camera tool captures everything and stores it in your clipboard, acting as your bookmark store. Access the interface through the Clipboard tool.

Click on it again to minimize it. You may also right-click on any one of them for additional options (save the cut outs, share URL, etc).
