How to Clear Song History on Amazon Prime Music (and Other Cool Tips)

I have a peculiar habit of listening to specific songs on a loop until I get bored of them. Most of you must be familiar with this habit. The ‘Recently Played’ section of Prime Music, my go-to streaming app, doesn’t make it any easier.

I open the app to tap on the first thumbnail. And my list of favorite songs is slowly depleting. And playing the same songs repeatedly doesn’t help the song recommendation process, meaning there are fewer chances to discover new songs. Fortunately, there’s a way to clear song history on Amazon Prime Music, and it’s simple. The only issue is that it can only be done on a computer. Let’s see how.

Similar to Netflix and Prime Video, clearing your song history from Prime Music also removes the titles from your history list. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the site using your phone credentials.

Indian users may use the following link.

Step 2: After signing in, click on the Recents tab in the left menu, then select Played.

This will display all songs along with the timestamp.

Step 3: Check the box next to each song you want to remove. Then, tap the three-dot menu and choose Remove song from history.

Repeat this for any remaining songs. That’s it.

I understand that the process can be tedious, but currently, it is the only way to selectively remove recently played songs from the list.

Step 4: The changes will not be immediately shown on your phone app. To resolve this issue, you will need to sign in again.

To do so, tap on the gear-shaped icon on your app and select Sign-out.

Alternatively, if you want to remove the entire album, scroll to the top of the page where all the albums are displayed and click on See All.

Then, hover over the thumbnail, click on the three-dot menu, and choose Remove song from history. It’s that simple.

Removing entire albums makes more sense than selecting and deleting individual songs. While the Recently Played section will fill up again as you listen to new songs, it will keep out unwanted songs from flooding your queue. Plus, using a shared account stops the other person from knowing (and judging) your taste in music.

3. Alter the Streaming Quality

Switching to high-quality streaming may affect your data plan. Alternatively, if you don’t want your songs to buffer, the last option will be the best choice, but keep in mind that the quality won’t be the highest.

4. Download Songs for No Internet Days

My only issue with online streaming services is that without offline songs, it can be an ordeal when in an area with spotty internet, especially on road trips.

Fortunately, Prime Music has an option for offline downloads. Just tap on the three-dot menu and hit Download.
