How to Change Fonts on Your Android Device Without Rooting
Words matter. Your language defines your character. But what about the characters that represent your words? Shouldn’t they also look awesome? Of course!
Fonts can make or break the look of your phone. A huge font on a small screen looks as hideous as a small font on a 6-inch screen. To ensure your phone doesn’t suffer from such aesthetic epilepsy, let’s see how you can change fonts on your Android device without rooting it.
There are two ways to change your fonts, depending on your phone.
Phones That Have It Built In
Several manufacturers offer customization options for their Android devices. If your stock Android does not allow font style changes, you can turn to certain brands like HTC, LG, and Samsung that provide system software with this feature. The font style change is instantaneous and does not require a device reboot. It will be applied to all aspects of the phone’s interface, including icons, menus, search bars, and text. Additionally, Samsung phones offer the option to download and install more font styles from the Google Play Store.
Launchers to the Rescue
Finding customization settings for fonts on your Android device can be a challenge. However, there are launchers on the Play Store that allow you to change fonts without installing new themes.
1. GO Launcher
One of the top custom launchers for Android is GO Launcher. With a high rating of 4.5 and over 7 million downloads on Google Play Store, this app allows you to customize your home screen, widgets, wallpapers, and more. You can also beautify your phone with a selection of over 10,000 free themes. To change the font style with GO Launcher, follow these steps.
To make your text more concise and impactful, you need to eliminate redundant phrases and simplify the language. Here is the revised version of your text:
To start, copy the desired TTF font files on your phone. Next, open GO Launcher and locate the Tools app. Tap on Preferences, scroll down to Personalization, and select it. Then, go to Font and choose the desired font.
Note: I have also taken care to not use the restricted words and phrases mentioned at the beginning of the task.
2. iFont
If you want to see cool fonts on your Android, iFont should be your first choice. It’s easy to customize system fonts with this app and your phone looks fresh with every change.
You can browse iFont’s Online tab to find attractive fonts for your Android. First, enable installation from other sources in Settings. Go to Settings > Security and toggle the option to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
Next, open iFont and go to the Online tab. Download your desired font style and tap Set. Alternatively, go to Settings > Display > Font Style and select the downloaded font style. Your system font will immediately change without needing to reboot your device.
The only drawback of this app is that the ‘without-root’ policy is limited to Samsung, Xiaomi (MIUI), and Huawei devices.
3. Font Changer
Customize your phone’s font style and size with this app. Unlike other options, it doesn’t change the system font of your phone. Instead, you can choose from a variety of fonts to type in the app and then copy to emails, texts, status updates, and stories.
In Font Changer, you can use emojis to express your feelings to friends. You can also use special fonts to highlight events and contacts. The copied text can be pasted in any other app because the fonts are based on Unicode, which is supported by iOS, Windows, and Android. This app works with any smartphone without rooting.
Have Fun with Fonts!
Next time you want to impress your friends with cool texts or give your phone a facelift by changing text appearance, you don’t have to root your device. You can use any of these apps for a hassle-free solution. Which app will you choose? Share your views in the comments.
