Top 7 Ways to Fix Alarms Not Working on iPhone
Setting up an alarm on iPhone is simple, but sometimes it won’t go off. To fix this problem, adjust the volume. If the alarm still won’t go off, try these troubleshooting tips.
1. Restart iPhone
Your first course of action should be to restart your iPhone. Restarting your iPhone can troubleshoot and resolve any minor issues that may be preventing the alarm from functioning properly.
2. Check Volume Settings
Next, check the alarm volume on your iPhone. Your iPhone allows different volumes for alerts and media, which can be confusing. To change the alarm tone volume, open Settings and go to Sound & Haptics. Use the slider under Ringer and Alerts to increase the alarm volume. If you frequently have low alarm volume issues on your iPhone, disable ‘Change with Buttons’ to prevent the volume buttons from affecting the ringer and alerts.
3. Change Alarm Tone
Checking the volume is important, but it’s also crucial to verify the alarm tone on your iPhone. Here’s how:
1. Open the Clock app and go to the Alarm tab. Tap Edit and select the alarm you want to edit.
2. Navigate to Sound and choose a new alarm tone from the list. You can preview tones by tapping on them. You have the option to select default tones or set your favorite song by downloading it from Apple Music.
Step 3: Once selected, return to the Edit Alarm screen and save.
4. Delete and Add the Alarm Again
The issue may be limited to select alarms. You can try deleting the alarm and setting them up again.
Swipe left on the alarm you wish to remove in the Clock app and tap Delete.
Use the Plus icon in the top right corner to set up the alarm again on the same screen.
5. Remove Conflicting Alarm Apps
If you’ve been using third-party alarm apps on your iPhone, the alarm not working issue can arise due to them. Some third-party apps require running in the background for alarms to work. Additionally, these apps may not be as reliable as the default clock app on iPhone.
Consider removing any third-party alarm apps and sticking to the default alarm clock app for an optimal experience.
6. Update Your iPhone
If you don’t regularly update your phone’s software, you might face issues like this. The alarm not working issue could be due to a bug in the iOS. Check for pending updates for your iPhone and install them right away.
7. Reset Your iPhone
If you can’t get the alarms to work despite your efforts, you’ll have to reset your iPhone as a last resort. This will erase all the settings, but not the data.
Step 1: Open the Settings menu and go to General, then tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone at the bottom.
Step 2: Tap Reset and select Reset All Settings from the menu.
Enter your passcode, and your iPhone will reset itself.

Alarms ensure punctuality, and if you’re constantly rushed, any delays in waking up can disrupt your entire day. The mentioned solutions can resolve any problems that may prevent your iPhone from buzzing in the morning.
